In 1940 Maurice and Richard McDonald moved their father's restaurant from Monrovia to San Bernardino, California. They changed the name in 'McDonald’s Famous Barbeque'.
They realized that the burgers were the most profitable, so they remade the menu focusing on burgers.
They changed the name again and this time to just “McDonald’s”. The first McDonald's opened its doors on December 12, 1948.
